Where Have I Been Part 2

Hey there everyone! I am playing with this program called Picasa - I have never used it before, but in 5 minutes of using it, I already like it! Here are just a couple pictures I have taken on the road this last time out. There were some pretty cool cloud formations, the arch in St Louis, and The Chrome Shop Mafia...Enjoy!

Where Have I Been?

Hey there :) I'm back home - 3 weeks on the road and I am beat-down tired! I thought today was going to be a relaxing "do nothing" day, until I was awaken at almost 10am by my phone...it was my driver manager calling me to tell me I have a brand new truck waiting for me at my terminal about 5 miles from the house!!!


YES!!!!!

That day was finally here! I finally get my new truck! I have been waiting for this for almost 3 weeks, so it was nice to be able to go over and move stuff into my new truck...man was it fricken HUMID today though! I still have to go back over tonight and wipe down the interior of the old one...someone is getting my old truck tomorrow...they are getting a good truck!

This trip out I went to Mobile, then Meridien MS, to Elwood IL (Chicago), then to Green Bay (first time I have ever gotten a load to WI when I wasnt going home!) with stops in North Vernon IN, Louisville KY, Indianapolis, Chicago, Milwaukee, Kalamazoo MI, Cedar Rapids IA, Waverly IA, Eden NC, Knoxville TN, (Chicago AGAIN!), Cleveland OH, and now home.

There have been very few photo opportunities this time, been really pushing hard this time out and alot of days, it was park the truck, make a couple laps, grab something to drink, and head to bed...

The Memory Remains

Sometimes when you least expect it, something happens that brings back emotions and feelings you either have never dealt with, or have chosen to push so far deep down, that you "forgot" they were there. It seems I have this insatiable ability to suppress feelings and emotions, in the hopes that the feelings I had at that particular time, were just something in passing.

No matter what, the memory of that moment remains. It will creep up on you when you least expect it. You may see a movie preview, hear a song on the radio, or glance at a picture...and there it is...the feeling you chose not to deal with.

That is where I am tonight - and I am not dealing with these feelings and emotions very well. Right now I would give anything for an Ambien and a cool side of a pillow.

I would say her smile. From there, how her eyes sparkle when she smiles. :)

I would hope it would be Jenny Arnold - its ashame we drifted apart and havent talked in almost 15 years...and I dont even know why

I hit my work bench in my garage with it – not paying attention and scraped my fender extenders

If the Lord would have wanted me to see a sunrise, he would have made it for noon!

For the general public, I have The Soprano’s theme (although I can change it to any one of about 30 MP3s I have on my new phone!), for Rick I have Its Tricky, for the kids I have “I LIKE TO MOVE IT” from Madagascar, for Val I have Sarah McLachlan, and for my truck driver friends, I have the “Smokey and the Bandit” theme

20. What scent is the air freshener in your bathroom?

Fathers Day 2009

First of all, I want to wish all the dads of the world, that they had a wonderful Father's Day with their families.

The kids and I went up to Door County for the day, which is the little thumb of Wisconsin just NE of Green Bay. This is a real "touristy" area for all the Chicago-land people, lots of little shops and things. We started out our odyssey at Wilson's in Ephraim. This is a little ice cream shop that has some really great comfort foods as well. They make all their own ice cream. Its a really nice place to grab something to eat.

We then went over to Pirate's Cove to play miniature golf. This is a really neat place to play. It is set up like a pirate ship, then you have to cross thru the waterfall tunnel to play...the kids had a blast!!

We then went over to Bailey's Harbor so the kids could throw rocks in the water...this seems to be a regular activity for them when we go up there! I think they like the "SPLOOOOOSH!" the rocks make when they hit the water :)

We then made our way down the shoreline to Algoma, where we all played in the sandy beach area before we packed up and headed for home. All in all, it was a great day with the kids and I certainly enjoyed my Father's Day weekend with them!
